We, as both members and disciples, are the bricks and mortar upon which His Kingdom is built. The more disciples we make here at The First Cathedral, the stronger and greater we build the Kingdom of God.

New Member’s Process

Intake

  • After altar call, new members complete membership form and have pictures taken. We share Four Spiritual Laws and brief about the New Member’s Orientation class.
  • During first week Care Director assigns Care Pastor, area leader and caregiver.  Submits membership profiles to Pastor, area leader and caregiver.
  • Caregiver calls new member the same day he/she receives membership information. Arranges to meet and accompany to orientation class.  Schedules a home visit for following week.

Orientation

  • New member attends orientation class that addresses church’s beliefs, vision, history, membership information, ministries and services.
  • Members sign a membership covenant, receive tithe envelopes and Member’s Handbook.

Spiritual Growth/Ministry Service/Evangelism

  •  New member attends New Members Series and Enhancement classes.  Before completing NMS or Enhancement classes, member completes an interest survey for ministry service.  NMS Director submits survey to ministry leader.  Someone from selected ministry contacts new member.  NMS Director verifies that members have been contacted and are active in selected ministry.  Notifies Care Director of ministry service for entry in data base.
  • During NMS, members are taught the importance of witnessing locally and world wide.  We provide information about evangelism ministries and training (EE, School of Ministry, Outreach, foreign/local missions).
  • Caregiver assists and guides through Christian growth process (New Members Series, Enhancement Classes, baptism, fellowship with other believers, Bible Study, ministry service, evangelism).  For first six months, has weekly communication (calls, visits, meetings).  Invites them to church activities, makes sure they’re established in their church attendance and invites them to observe caregiver doing ministry service.
  • Care Pastor and area leader assist caregiver to provide spiritual, physical and emotional needs of members and their family.
  • Bishop interacts with new members to get to know them, identify their needs, share ideas for church’s vision/mission and encourage them to serve in the ministry.
