God's Fingerprint December 11, 2009 |
GOD'S FINGERPRINT
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57-58
"Look
into your heart and truly find what you are thankful for. It's a hard
time for everybody right now. So, find what you're thankful for and
share that with your community and the world." These are the words of
Valerie Brewer, the mother of a 15 year old boy who was intentionally
set aflame in Florida recently.
With her son in searing pain and
struggling to recover from burns over 60% of his body, this incredible
woman asked us to be thankful . . . and to share that gratitude with
the world. What an inspiration!
Can you imagine if we all took
the advice of this courageous woman? How much would the world change if
we were all truly grateful for the blessings we have been given? It
would be a world that looks to strength instead of weakness, unity
instead of division, courage instead of fear, and love instead of hate.
Yes,
these are difficult times. This means we must be more thankful for what
we have instead of fearful or worried about what we don't have. Take a
moment today. Put aside all those things that trouble you, that eat at
your spirit every moment of the day. Let the Lord take those things and
focus instead on giving thanks for what you have right now: Your
family, your friends, your faith, and the specific gifts God has given
you.
Yes, there are certain wonderful qualities that only you
have. Your combination of blessings makes you truly unique. Think of
yourself as God's fingerprint; there is no one else just like you! That
is why you are so important to the Lord and to the world He loves. He
needs to leave His mark on the world and you have the opportunity to
leave that mark for Him right now!
Take Valerie Brewer's advice
and become God's Fingerprint. Look into your heart and truly find what
you are thankful for. Discover your blessings. Then bring those
wonderful things to those who need to be blessed by the blessings the
Lord has given you.
This Week's Prayer
Lord God, Thank
You. You have given me so much. Above all, I know that Your Son, Jesus
died for me. For that, You have my eternal gratitude and faith. In the
spirit of thanks, I ask you to renew my mind. Make me grateful for all
Your blessings. Let me not dwell on scarcity and loss. Take away my
fears. For with You, I truly have nothing to fear. Guide me; strengthen
me, so that I can bring the blessings You have bestowed upon me to a
world in need. Amen. .

TAPPIN' TO HIS LOVE
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
John 3:16-17 It's important to know that facing financial trouble and having disagreements are a normal and necessary part of any marriage, especially in uncertain times. But you must not allow tension to build over time. Too much tension will lead to resentment and the collapse of real communication between you and your spouse. And keeping the lines of communication open is absolutely essential to discovering the true worth of your marriage and family.
Yes, there is an enormous difference between wealth and worth.
"Busy!" How often is that your answer when someone asks, "How are you?"
Is it right that one word - "Busy!" - should define your entire life? Yes, we are all busy balancing our families, home, work, church, and friends . . . all while trying to take care of our own needs. However, this constant activity can mislead us into believing that we are going in the right direction, that we are getting somewhere, and making the most of our lives.
